Mother's Day 2009

This has been a great Mother's Day! It was a hard one for Meg. I want her and all of my kids to know that I love and appreciate them and couldn't ask for better people to mother.
I am entering a new phase of mothering. Being a mother to a mother is a wonderful thing. I love seeing the growth and the great job my kids are doing at being and preparing to be parents. I loved the phone calls, cards, gifts, letters, notes, video chats, and visits from my kids. I wanted to share this sweet gift that Jonathan made for me. He recorded himself playing "Cherished Moments" by John Schmidt and then put together this slide show of my loved ones for me.

I also want to mention how blessed I am to have such a wonderful mother. She is a joy to be around and is the epitome of goodness and kindness. It would be impossible to be as giving as she is, but I try every day to be worthy of her love and service to me.

  1. Okay, that was BEAUTIFUL! Now that I'm all emotional, it's time to go to work! How did Jonathan record his piano playing--the sound quality was really good!

  2. It was hard, but having you as a mother-in-law makes it much easier!! Thanks for all you do.

At my house, whoever made mom cry on Mothers Day was the favorite. It sounds like Jonathan took the cake this year! :) He really did do such an awesome job!

  4. What a wonderful slide-show. LOVE that he was playing the piano and then showing pictures of everyone...the absolute PERFECT Mother's Day gift. Now the question is...how do I get my kids to make me something like that?
