Halloween 2009

This Halloween started with a baptism! Then we helped Joni clean her house. (She's going to put it on the market next week) Then we took dinner to a family that's been suffering with swine flu. The mom got back from the hospital today.

Jill brought Liam over as the first trick or treater!
The Skardas came next. Notice the witch is no longer in baptism clothes. Nick, Mikayla and Skylar. Then the Langkildes. Then the Henrys. Shandee came before Christopher and since I already have a picture of him in costume, I didn't catch him. Eryn and Sami. The Gearys. And finally Jonathan and the "Butter you up gang"! In case you're wondering Jonathan is a 'heartless' from the Kingdom of Hearts games he likes to play. I don't remember ever having so few trick or treaters. They had great costumes though. Quality not quantity this year! I don't think I've ever been to a baptism or cleaned someone else's bathroom or taken dinner to someone on Halloween.

It was fun! I hope you had a great Halloween, too!

An Arrow of Light and Spooky Stuff

Last week was fun and busy. Here's a couple of the fun things; Corey got his Arrow of Light. We've been a ward for 4 years now and Corey was the first cub to get his Arrow of Light! Congrats Corey.
I got to watch Christopher in the morning and get him ready for a Halloween party at Kidsport. Scarry, huh?

Finally this is the spookiest of all. I looked out the front room window this morning and saw this strange thing on the front lawn. It kind of looks like a dead bird with its head in the ground. Its not small. I took a picture with my tennis ball to give it perspective. It is a mushroom! Weird and Scarry I say!

Skiing in October?

Well, not me, but yes, Josh and Meg. This is not for the weak hearted. Meg checked the water temperature; a toasty 55 degrees! Josh and Meg couldn't get their usual crazy partners to go skiing with them today, so I got to go along and try to capture the fun on film. I've got to say that its not easy to get shots of skiiers who are either cutting back and forth like crazy or (whenever I tried to get video) stayed right behind the boat resting. I did get one short video of Josh actually skiing. BTW Josh forgot his ski and had to use Meg's.

Meg brought 5 year old Charlie, who adores her. He wanted to pretend he was skiing, too.

Finished!

I have a hard time doing anything but geneology these days. This morning I decided to make myself a list of things I need to do and then work on everything on the list before I could go to the library to do research. First on my list was to finish the quilts for Jenny and Nicole's babies. So I finally got them done! Jenny's is pretty calm.

Nicole's is pretty wild and the border didn't really tone it down at all. Now for the rest of my list!

Another Week at the Quincys

Josh and Meg went to Lake Mead last week. They were at her sister's house in Las Vegas on Meg's birthday. So Monday she finally got her present.I have been hanging out at the library! I do geneology research every spare minute. I get home from work. Grab my geneology folder and stay there until its time to pick up Jonathan from swim. Jenny does her research at home. We may have some names ready for temple work any mintue now!
Thursday I had the book club over. Friday after work I got to take Christopher to the Cub Jungle Safari. No pictures; Richard took the camera that day.
Friday Richard took the retirement center folks on a field trip. They rode the Heber Creeper.Saturday Levi was baptized. Jonathan drove us all the way to Stansbury Park, Lake Point and then back. He says that he'll never drive with Dad and I both in the car at the same time again. The conflicting instructions drove him crazy! He did very well for his first time on the freeway!Levi got home and changed before I could get a picture of him. Congrats Levi! Dallin baptized him, so that was very cool! Here's Jonathan and Jodi hanging out by the piano, of course!Poor Grandpa had surgery on Friday, I think. I believe he had a detached retina. He has to stay like this, preferrably on his stomach, laying down for a whole week. Grandma is a great nurse and keeps him in line and gets his eye drops in for him.Nancy is a recently made grandmother and I had to take a picture of this plaque on her wall. If you can't read it; it says; "Every time a child is born, so is a grandma". Notice the many pictures of Wes.Here's a couple of the cute couples there. Kevin and Emily are getting married in November and Camilla and Jacob have been married for almost 2 years! We finally got to have Meg's birthday dinner yesterday! All of the local folk, but Matt made it. He was sick. We missed you Matt, hope you're feeling better today!
We had fun remembering stuff. I did not know that Jack and Joni shared a room for like 5 years! I don't remember that! Stephanie found out about Jack biting Joni and Meg found out about how mean Josh was to all of Joni's friends.

Josh thinks its his job to find things for Richard to buy on KSL.com.

Jason even called and got to join in on some of the partying and birthday wishes!

We are so blessed to have Meg in our family! She is such a sweetie and she brings out the best in Josh! Josh gave Meg a sewing machine for her birthday and she has started pieceing a quilt. I should have taken a picture of the quilt block she brought. It is really nice work and will be a really beautiful quilt!

Park City Fall Classic

Jonathan swam just one day of the meet. He swam the 200 free, the 100 back and the 50 free. He didn't get a best time on this 50 free, but it was the best video Richard took, so its the one I'm sharing. He's looking pretty good, isn't he?

And just a small yell of "Hip-Hip Hooray"! for the temple in Concepcion, Chile!!!

Richard working here there and everywhere

Last week Richard started another job. He drives the folks at the Legacy Retirement Center around to appointments, the grocery store and on sight seeing. He trained on Monday and Tuesday and worked on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
This week he started out early Monday morning helping the Perrys move their play house.
He then painted the Herget's barn the rest of the day Monday and all of Tuesday, barely getting it painted before the storm hit. Sorry no pictures of the barn.
Richard took a group of the Legacy crowd to the Gardner Village witches walk this morning.
Then he took another group on sight seeing trip to see the leaves on the Alpine loop this afternoon. I'm sure that they all love him! He seems to be able to do anything!
