Jacob's baptism, Nauvoo pageant, and travel time!

Monday it cooled off, so after working in the office until 6:00 we drove to Nauvoo!  It was perfect weather and the pageant was wonderful!  We even spotted our Stake President and his wife in the cast!

We worked hard all week getting caught up, Elder Quincy squeezed in some service time cleaning up the Mormon Handcart Park on Pioneer Day, we went to Texas Roadhouse with the Sanders to celebrate, and Thursday after work we started driving to Colorado!

Chapmans and cousins

Jess found these matching dresses at Costco for $9.

Eva showing me her trick.

Jacob and Dallin before they were baptized.  Yeah Jacob is tall!

Such a great supportive family!

A little traffic in Nebraska.

Home for tonight.
It's was awesome to see the Chapmans!  All of them!  Jacob's baptism was nice.  We loved being there!  We had dinner at the park, Jessica's yummy pulled pork, and delish blueberry pancakes and awesome berry trifle!  After church we started back to Iowa!  Sleeping in Omaha tonight!

Humongous transfer!

21 new missionaries arrived Wednesday..

27 headed home Friday and Saturday! We had a busy week preparing for them to come and go!
i
These great APs do 90 percent of the work. The rest of us all do some to help.
We had lunch with the Sturms and told them all about Marshalltown.
We took Elders to the Peking Buffet and they ate the octopus and Elder Orme got 3 fortunes in his cookie!

We worked late and started early every day this week!

I had to drive the transfer van to the airport, but I survived!  Elder Quincy had to rent a 12 passenger van to move all these new, old and transferring missionaries around!
Taking a load to Des Moines.

Bringing a load back to Iowa City.

Sister Smith and Sister Rudd are cousins!

It's pretty crazy getting everyone to their new areas.

And all their stuff!
Elder Quincy did manage to get the carpet coving put in the office..

To install our blinds...

He got a new map..

And I made this chart of all the zones and missionaries to get a better visual of where everyone is.

We loved getting to know and training the new missionaries at their welcome dinner Wednesday night. It's wonderful to see their excitement and desire to serve!
And saying good bye and hearing testimonies at the good bye dinner Thursday night!

They leave with strong testimonies and great plans for their futures!  We'll miss them!
Sister Tobias visited us in the Spanish branch today!  And we had delicious brownies and root beer floats with the Sanders tonight!

It got really hot this week with the heat index up to 115 one day!  So nice to have it cool off today!  80 felt lovely! What a blessing air conditioning is!
