Jacob I Have Loved

Jacob was born on Monday, the 25th. He came home on Tuesday, the 26th. Wednesday, the 27th he came and picked me up from the airport! This is my first look at him; Big cheeks, skinny legs; I really liked him; Tessa and Sophie adore their brother. They love to hold him, kiss him, brush his hair and show him off; These girls have grown up so much since I saw them just 2 months ago. Sophie reads books now, Tessa talks in paragraphs and has an amazing vocabulary; We went to the park on Thursday night and let the girls run and play their hearts out. Jess and Jacob rested on the bench. Jacob's eyes opened up more every day. He has some adorable dimples that are really hard to get in a photo. Tessa has developed an amazing ability with electronic devices. She watched the videos on my cell phone every spare moment. When I left today she asked if I could leave my buttons there for her to play with. Jacob in real clothes! Off to the doctor. Jess and Dan are such great parents. These three kids are very blessed to be born to them. Doesn't Jess look great 5 days after giving birth? I think that Jacob's nose is different than any of my other kid's or grandkid's noses. It looks like my sister Nancy's or maybe my sister-in-law Erika's. We'll see if it changes. At the museum. Seeing who's as big as which dinosaur. This morning we bathed Jacob and washed his hair. It looks lighter and had some curl in it. So Jess gave him this awesome faux hawk. Sophie and Tessa bathed and ready for church loving their chocolate shredded wheat. Jacob modeling the blanket I made him before I left today. He does look good in it, doesn't he? I am missing the Chapmans already!

The Man

Jacob is one darling boy! He has 2 dimples! I have lots of pictures on my camera, but no way to get them on Jess' computer. I will still one of her pictures to post on here instead. I'll be home tomorrow night and should post a ton soon thereafter.

Baby boy Chapman is here!

Thankfully Jessica's baby boy was born this afternoon! He was 7 lb. 15 oz. and 20.5 inches long. He has some serious cheeks and brown hair. I only have a picture on my phone. I'll add one when I get one on the computer! I'm so thankful that Jess and baby are both doing well! I can't wait to kiss those cheeks!

Update! He has a name; Jacob Daniel Chapman!

Cows and baby blankets

I finally got baby Chapman's blanket made. I guess he can be born now. If you look carefully you'll see the cow pattern border...

Inspired by Jonathan and his cow pants. He also has a cow print pillow case. He really likes cows, something to do with a Japanese manga he likes. Funny kid!

Elliott's first popsicle

Meg let Grandpa feed Elliott part of his red popsicle even though it didn't thrill her. (She was wearing her new dress!)

A very memorable holiday week-end!

Friday morning Richard headed to my parent's cabin to help take down some dead trees. He worked all day and spent the night there. Saturday morning Jonathan and I drove up and brought lunch.

Here's my cute niece,Emily picking dandelions. Jonathan and I taught Brigham and Grandpa how to play speed scrabble. Lizzie taking a nap. Grandma making beds. Its hard to get a picture of her holding still, she doesn't. Grandpa in his classy headgear and Richard making a new seat for the swing. They had to take down the 2 huge trees the old swing was on. They put up a new one, but it just isn't as cool as the old one, I'm afraid. Jonathan opening the gate to let us out. I was really green and beautiful up there. The greenest I remember seeing it! Jonathan and Richard washed my van after we got home. Jonathan also washed his Jeep and his Dad's truck and mowed the back lawn that night. Elliott brought her parents to visit on Sunday. Here she is in her darling 4th of July dress. She's started really talking (cute baby sounds anyway) and is so fun! Today seemed like a pretty boring 4th of July until we went to buy this range (the heating element broke in our 26 year old one) at Sears and..Joni sent us a text telling us that Gino had called and proposed!!! This is a picture of their camp-out last summer (I couldn't resist adding it). Gino has 8 more weeks of training in North Carolina, so Joni is happy, but miserable (if you know what I mean). Sounds like wedding plans will be for next summer! Congrats to the happy, miserable couple!

Elliott and her great toy skills

Elliott is really fun to watch when she plays with her toys. Actually she was trying to get her bottle in her mouth is why I shot this, but she decided to play with her toys instead.
