The Family Cabin

Our family has owned a couple of lots in Manor Lands up by the East Fork of the Bear River since I was a very little girl. We camped out up there with most of my Dad's family and had lots of good times there. In the 1980's, I think about 1987, my Mom and Dad bought out the rest of the family and built a cabin, with lots of help from their kids, on the other lot. It is a fun place. Three years ago the Young Women in our ward had girls camp up here. This year they did it again. Sadly, I hadn't been up there since the last girl's camp.

I resolved to get my family up there this year! We decided to have Sunday dinner up there yesterday and it was wonderful! Thanks for coming Josh, Meg, Jack, Stephanie, Richard and Jonathan! Now if we can get the rest of the family up there!

Every one enjoyed the swings. Josh was pretty excited to get the Passport (an old Honda that Erika bought and rode to SLCC when she was pregnant with Amanda) running and give Meg a ride on it.

Stephanie had never been on an ATV and she couldn't get enough of it.
Jonathan got a refresher course from Richard on how to drive it.
Stephanie's birthday dinner.
Making s'mores and enjoying the fire.

Josh couldn't get off the couch for the s'mores, but he did get up for the birthday cake.
For some strange reason, imcompetance?, this is the only picture of Stephanie and her birthday cake.
Richard and these 2 Young Men from our ward stayed the night at the cabin. They left this morning on a 100 mile hike!

Josh had to show Meg the swing before we left!

We will have to get up there again a little sooner than last time. I think that the last time we were up there as a family was before Jason left on his mission! I love the cabin and all of it's memories for me. I hope that my kids make memories up there, too!

  2. I haven't been up there in way too long! I'm glad to see everyone else made it up. That's impressive Josh got the passport running, it's so old! We miss you like crazy mom and are so excited to see you next month.
