A pre-birthday celebration in Denver!

Jenny, Dean and I all flew to Denver for a little pre-birthday gathering! Sophie and Jenny both have birthdays this month. We arranged it so we got to the airport at about the same time. Jen, Dean and I met up at the baggage claim area and then Jess came and picked us up. It was free day at the natural history museum, so we stopped there on the way home from the airport for an hour of fun. Here we are in the parking lot. Sophie and Tessa are showing off this cool wall. Dean may have noticed the astronaut, but mostly he thought the lights were cool. He is really into lights, maybe even second place to wheels. Sophie loved this dinosaur skeleton that walks, she was brave enough to stick her head in it's mouth like this little girl is doing. Tessa on the other hand cried and ran from it as fast and far way as she could.
Trying on their Valentine gifts. Dean had to settle for the Christmas head gear. Tuesday morning Sophie had her preschool Valentine party. Here she is all dressed up and ready to go with the valentine she'd made. Tessa showing off her valentine. I made Sophie do a retake with a smile. We went to a park with community ride-ons that afternoon. Sophie asking Tessa for a turn on the cool Barbie one. Then we met Dan for dinner at the Red Robin. Dan and Sophie enjoying the special birthday sundaes they brought for our birthday girls. Tessa ate the whipped cream off the top. Dean was very good all day after just having a one hour nap instead of the 3 hours he usually gets, but he'd had enough sitting and was ready to walk the restaurant at this point. Back home for Sophie to open her presents. (We went to the maternity store that afternoon and found Jenny a darling maternity dress. I should have taken a picture!) Okay these are out of order, same day, but earlier than the trip to the park, shopping, and going to dinner we took Dean outside to walk around while the girls were napping. (Jess had the baby moniter in her pocket.) My two beautiful pregnant daughters. Jenny is a couple of months ahead of Jessica. Dean loved this bridge and all of the puddles on the way to it. It was beautiful out there. Notice only the Houstonites needed jackets and they even took then off on the way back! Sometimes a guy's got to resort to doll strollers to have wheels to play with. Sophie really loved her birthday presents. She is a horse lover. Tessa in a princess dress up dress. She is so sweet and such a character. I loved seeing how well she and Sophie get along and how willing they were to share and be kind to Dean almost all of the time! Sophie is so cute playing with her horses, she sings to them and makes up cute stories and conversations for them. She is a sweet and incredibly creative child. Jenny works very hard to keep Dean fed. He is easily distracted from food and doesn't do well with gluten, so she has to be very creative to do it. He is a sweet and healthy boy! Trying to get a group shot with my camera didn't go so well. Jess got a bunch with her camera, which I'm sure she'll share when she gets a minute. Sophie had to hold this kiss for a long time for Jess to capture it with my slow camera. I must comment on what a wonderful hostess Jessica is! She is an amazing cook! She fed us so well. I should have taken pictures of the wonderfully delicious and beautiful valentine dinner and the homemade pizza and gazpacho she made us for lunch the next day. She has decorated her apartment so nicely, everything was spotless and she even made Jenny a blanket while she took care of us all! What a homemaker she's turned into!!

Luckily, I got back home in time to tend Dex! He only played for a little while before he went to sleep though! What a cutie! Tomorrow I'll upload my videos!
