A couple of the things that stand out were visiting with the Pattersons, he has been an Elder for a short time. She has cancer and is having a procedure on Tuesday to determine if its too far advanced to treat it She's scared and worried and asked for a blessing. Elder Quincy suggested that her husband do the sealing and to pronounce the blessing on her. It was really sweet and powerful! We had a last lesson with Bridget and tried so hard to figure out how to get to the temple with her before we leave, but it just wouldn't work out. She said she'll go to the temple with us in Utah when she visits!!
So many cool things are happening with the Watson family; (not to be confused with Shannon Watson) the member, Genynieve was Bridget's daughter's softball coach last year, we were able to visit her and her husband the non-member (first time he's actually talked to us), she had her baby and agreed to have the Relief Society bring in meals. Sister Moore, sweetest old lady ever, lives right by them and is bringing dinner, Bridget took dinner today, I did yesterday, Sonya and Ashley are on Tuesday, the Primary President is her facebook friend and had no idea shes's a member; she's taking dinner on Wednesday! If she's not ready to come to church after meeting with those sweet sisters this week, I'll be surprised!
It almost didn't work out to get Shannon to the temple for her endowment. We had an appointment Friday night and knew it was going to be close on time, so we were waiting in Kingwood where she works for her to get back to the office (She's a chauffeur). She called to say she couldn't make it in time and asked about the morning. I called and managed to get her an appointment for the next morning instead! And we were able to meet Luke and eat dinner with him. So it was all good.
The temple was amazing! The Roberts came! That meant so much to Shannon!
We had our last chance to teach our Preschool kids! They all made us thank-you pictures and flowers and I got an awesome group hug!
We really love these kids! We were back to teach Paloma on Friday morning. She is so golden except for the fact that things keep getting in the way of her coming to church. This time her daughter had an allergic reaction to something they had to go to the hospital to get treated.
Our car's air conditioner started making loud noises and so Elder Quincy ordered a new compressor. Thankfully he and Hermano Nalasco got it on Saturday night!
So we kind of knew that the ward was planning a potluck good-bye dinner for us Saturday night. So when the Sisters asked us to meet them at the church for a lesson at 5:00 Saturday we weren't surprised they had a party, but we were surprised that so many people we love were there in one room at the same time! I counted 80!
The other surprise were the sweet gifts; angels, picture album with their pictures in it, flowers and of course the amazing quilt!
Elder Barrett asked us to keep track of Hermano Lunas when he left. We tried to find him and visit him, but heard he'd moved to Houston! Today he made it to Cleveland for church!
Today Elder Quincy has given 4 blessings. Its been a good Sunday!
I added some of the 100s of pictures I've taken of the clouds on our drives this week. I know I've said it before, but they are so beautiful here!
Tuesday we had lunch with Sandy Butler, Timothy Foote and his mom at this cute cowboy place; D & M diner
Pictures from one of our last walks in Cleveland.
This is what they use to keep the trees back off the road.
This is the 'gravel pits' where I dropped the Sisters off to fish with Br. Roberts for the last time! You have to look closely to see Br. Roberts and Elder Quincy out in the boat.
These guys have to fish from the shore, no boating for missionaries!
I got the sunrising after I dropped them off. Texas is a beautiful place full of amazing people that I love!
