Car craziness, firsts, and celebrating Labor Day

Richard sold this Saturday. He's now driving this; Jonathan is driving this; I'm still driving my swagger wagon. Now if Richard can just sell this;

we will be set for a while.
Here's Jonathan's first pay check! We finally made it up to the cabin today for the first time this year. We stopped and visited with a bunch of Ellis cousins at Uncle Lee's property on our way in, sat on the swing and read, Jonathan got on the quadrunner... we ate lunch... walked around in the sun some... Dad and Grandpa cut down another tree (did you notice how many have been cut down this year?) and we drove back home. It was fun to hear a bunch of Grandpa's musings on the drive.
We did get to spend some time with the newlyweds.

Hope you had a Happy birthday today Jessica! We had a fun day for you!

  1. Wow! I was reading your last post--life never seems to get any less busy, does it? Thanks for subbing in the midst of everything!

  2. Glad the van sold, that's nice. Yea for getting paid Jonathan! Pay checks rock. I've had a lot of checks that look just like that myself (since I worked there 6 years). Ahhh, memories. Thanks for enjoying my birthday in the mountains, lovely.
