Another building bites the dust!

They took down old South Jordan Elementary School this week. All of my kids, but Jonathan went there. Jason, Josh, Jess, and Jenny only went to that elementary school. Jack went there through 5th grade and Joni through 3rd. I spent a lot of time there for PTA meetings, helping in classrooms, school programs and parties. I left Jessica there one day when she was 4 and I picked up a bunch of cub scouts to go to the Tracy Aviary. She was in good hands. They gave her a sucker and called my friend Sue Case to come and get her.

Jason's Eagle Project was a handrail on the front steps. His aunt Kathy came to speak at the school about being handicapped and since there was no handrail she had to crawl up the front steps. Josh did his Eagle Project there, too. He fingerprinted kids and made them ID cards during lunch one day.

It was a good school, mostly because there were wonderful teachers there who loved and taught my kids. Before I started my kids at that school, I thought about homeschooling them. After I saw what wonderful teachers there were in this public school I decided that they would be in better hands in South Jordan Elementary School than home with me. I just want to say that I'm thankful for them and all that happened in their lives for good at SJE. It is Teacher Appreciation Week. Of course none of the teachers will read this, but I want to say "thanks" anyway.

  1. Crazy! I am glad for all the good teachers I had there too. I am starting to get a taste of what you must have felt sending us off to school, I am so nervous to put Soph in kindergarten in a couple years. I'll have to go meet some teachers first like you did, that should help.
