Babysitting in Denver!

I had a blast tending Sophie and Tessa while Jessica was at Girl's Camp this week. Sophie and I have always been good friends and now Tessa and I have bonded. She is so sweet and good natured! It was really fun to have them to myself for a day or so. It was lots of fun playing with all of the Chapmans together, too. I only have a few pictures. I will get some more from Jessica soon, I hope.

Tessa now rolls and turns herself around to get whatever she wants on the floor. She is so fun to watch and easy to tend. My favorite thing is how soft she is. She reaches up and softly plays with your face. Of course she grabs the glasses, but never scratches or hits.

I only got all the girls looking up when I cut off Tessa's face.

Sophie is such a princess! Here she is first thing in the morning, eating her waffles, after fixing her own hair.
Here she is at her friend's birthday party!
You can tell from this look that Tessa loves me now, right?
I've always been amazed at what good parents Jessica and Dan are, but after spending the last 3 days with them I am more amazed than ever. Jess is a he-woman! She can carry so much stuff up and down the stairs to her apartment. I didn't even leave while she was gone because I couldn't carry the double stroller and Tessa down at the same time and Jess can carry all that and the diaper bag, her purse, her camera and whatever else they need. She does such a great job of teaching her girls about everything from the alphabet, sign language, singing and dancing to the gospel and how Jesus loves them. Dan is a wonderful father, too. He works, goes to school, serves in the ward, and still spends time helping with the housework and caring for the girls.
I can't wait to see the next parents in the family!
I know that Jenny and Nicole posted these pictures on their blogs (from which I am shamelessly stealing them), but I wanted to put them side by side!

I hope there's a lot more babysitting of grandkids in my future!

  4. Ryan reaches out to touch our faces, too--softly at first. Then he digs his tiny nails into our cheeks! Of course, I think it's cute, because everything he does is cute! You have some beautiful granddaughters!
